
The six Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell One-Stop career Centers in southeastern New Mexico have a dual mission, to help TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) clients become self-sufficient and to help federal WIA (Workforce Investment Act) clients become better skilled employees.
The Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, Region IV, New Mexico Works Program was created in 1998 after the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconcilliation Act was enacted in 1996. The Reconciliation Act transformed the nations welfare system into a Work First Program. <<<< more
